Artist Spotlight: Rob Cantor

Rob Cantor - Not A Trampoline

As most of our readers are well aware, Progressive Man very much likes Jhameel and the music he makes. So when we were contacted by his manager and told about this great new artist named Rob Cantor, we had no choice but to check it out.

After all, he already works with Jhameel, the guy has to have great taste, right?

Well, it turns out Rob Cantor is an absolutely fantastic artist.

It’s actually possible that some of you will recognize him from his time in the band Tally Hall, which released 2 albums back in 2005 and 2011.

The band actually received a certain amount of national recognition, having played on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson twice and also having their music featured on MTV. Additionally, they played South by Southwest and Lollapalooza, two major festivals.

Well, now vocalist Rob Cantor is releasing a solo album, Not A Trampoline, which releases in only 4 days (4/14)!

Rob’s sound at times reminds us of a male version of Feist and at others of British band Foals.

We have 3 songs of his that we’re featuring, two of which have accompanying music videos. The videos are brilliant and we highly recommend watching them (our personal favorite happens to be “All I Need Is You”).

Have a listen and let us know what you think!
